Here's the schedule for the Cancer Benefit Race October 15th
Gates open @ 7:00am
Drivers registration 7:00am-8:30am
Drivers meeting 8:30am-9:00am
Practice 9:00am-10:30am
Heat Race #1 starts at 10:30am
Lunch Break and Go-Kart stand race. 12-12:30pm - This was funny to watch last year!
Heat Race #2 starts at 12:30 pm
Main event Races start at 2:00pm
Trophies and Raffle Prizes at 4:00pm
We will be pea-picking for heat 1 line-up.
We will be running Transponders for scoring
Joey Hand will be on hand in the early afternoon (about 11-2pm)
signing autographs.
Bev Ban is working on getting the local TV stations out to the track
for some coverage. I will be contacting the local newspaper on Friday.
We have had some great raffle prizes dropped off at the track
already. Please bring your donations by the track and leave them with
Scott or Doug at the MMI store at the track.
Saturday night we will be doing a family style Pot Luck BBQ at the
track also, so bring a dish and join us for some pre-racing fun.
Please note that we condensed some classes and changed weights to shorten up the day. Please remember that this is a charity race to raise money, NOT a
points race, so don't fret if your a little over weight and don't
think you can be competitive. IT'S FOR FUN !!!!!

We understand there are some tight points battles brewing in various classes with one race to go. So we posted the points and the results to mylaps.com as quickly as possible.
See you in Redding in a month and good luck to all those in tight points battles.
If you have your class win locked up and will not be attending the race at Redding, please email your name, class and jacket size to points@ikf-region11.com so we know your size for your Championship Jacket.

August 26-27 marks the return of the IKF Region 11 Series to the new Prairie City Kart Track. Gary Lovotti has been pulling out his hair for almost a year in his attempt to get his track repaved and the certain corners reconfigured. Gary is now an expert in dealing with Government Red tape!
The track has been completely repaved. Is as smooth as glass, with laps times being reported in the 2 to 3 second range faster then before. All region 11 karters owe Gary Lovotti a big thank you for the time and effort he has spent upgrading his track. Since last year's regional race not only has Gary repaved his entire track, but he has added a covered grid and covered grandstands. Lets all turn out in force at the August 26-27 regional race and show our appreciation for the hard efforts Gary has put forth to make karting better within the region.

Please extend out thanks to all the racers and families that made the effort to come to the Southern Oregon Kart Track. We certainly hope their experience was as good. I also extend my appreciation for the care and manner in which they left our facilities. Our clean up was very easy and we appreciate their help.

| The points in the Formula 80cc Masters Class for the Reno race have been adjusted to correct a data imput error. Two people can't finish in the same position...(sorry about that) |

Finally the points from Reno have been posted.
The 125cc National Cup points from Davis have been adjusted to give points to Woolf and McKinnon who were incorrectly scored for that race as a DNS or zero points, when if fact both took green flag laps. |

There is an NCCA Volleyball event in Reno that same weekend. The major Hotels are mostly full. The secondary and or non-casino hotels have rooms. |

Added new page the recognizes the recipients of the prestigous Bobby Chavez Humanitarian Award. The page explains the how the recipients are selected. The Bobby Chavez Humanitarian Award is presented every year at the NorCal banquet. Problem is if you are not at the banquet, then you would never know about the award and the past or future recipients. Even including the person selected for 2005, which is Syd "Thump Thump" White. Syd not only volunteers his time to do post race tech of all the 4 stroke classes at all the IKF Region 11 races, but is also the editor of the IKF rule book, is the IKF National Tech director for 4 cycles and has served on the IKF Board of Directors for many years. Volunteering countless hours for the betterment of all karters not only in Region 11, but nation wide too. So when you see Syd at the next race, make sure to congratulate him on this achievement and being selected for this prestigous award.
Special thanks to the Chavez family and especially Renee Vasquez (Bobby Chavez's sister) of the Atwater Kart Club, for providing the images used, providing back ground information, including a list of past recipients. The supplemental rules have been updated to reflect that only two classes running YDS tires, Formula 80 Limited and Formula 80 Limited Masters (YDS tires are the IKF national tire for Formula 80 Limited) will be allowed to treat their tires, as was the case in 2005.
K&N is having production problems with their new IKF approved airbox. There are less then 12 in the market place in California. Until such time as they are available in mass to all competitors, they will not be allowed in NorCal Region 11 Sprint racing. Having them available to a few select competitors could be an unfair advantge. |

| The 2006 Jr. Puma Rules have been posted in the supplemental rules section. The only change from 2005 is the change to YHC tires. |

| The 2006 local option rules for the 100cc National Cup - Leopard Sr. class have been posted in the supplemental rules section. Key changes are weight to 375. Tires to YHC. Gaskets and seals are non-tech, but must be in place. Spelling out the exact bore and stroke of the leopard motor. The lynx motor which is also 100cc and has a different bore and stroke is not legal in NorCal. Otherwise, all rules reamin the same as 2005. Jr. Puma Sportsman rules will be posted hopefully on 1-26-06. |

The Fast track form has been revised to reflect World Formula as approved at the NorCal meeting at 390 lbs vs regular WF at 365. This only effects the World Formula drivers. So if you are not in World Formula and you have sent in your registration form this is not an issue. If you are a WF driver please note the weight change.
The 4 Cycle Masters class was changed to reflects one engine and weight per the 2006 IKF rule book. This is different the the 2005 rules. |

| The pre-registration form for the Region 11 Sprint Series Race 1 at Atwater Feb 11-12 is available for download in the forms section. Also please note the supplemental rules for R11 sprint series races has been posted in the sprint series rules section. Please read these carefully. There are many changes to the local rules for 2006. All classes will run on National Tires in 2006. The national tire for Formula 80 Limited and Formula 80 Limited Master is still YDS per the IKF rule book. All other classes are on YHC tires. There will be no tire dope allowed at Region 11 Sprint series races this year even for the two classes still using YDS tires. The weight of the 100cc cup increases to 375. In the supplemental rules you will see that each driver must have an IKF patch on their driving suit and an IKF sticker on the hood of their kart. These last two will be pre-race tech items. The local rules spell out that the laps will be a minimum of 10 for the heat and 15 for the main. Be prepared to be at the drivers meeting at 8:30 sharp and first practice will start promptly at 9 am. This will get the day started sooner and we will run longer races then 10-15 if possible, The goal this year is lots of race laps. Also the series is 8 races long instead of 7. There will be no fall classic series in 2006. |
